Privacy Policy – Switched

What data the app stores
Switched stores the following data exclusively on your device: switch records you create (name, icon, optional schedule, on/off status, and last-done timestamp), and your theme preference (colour mode and accent colour). This data is held in Android's sandboxed SharedPreferences storage and never leaves your device.
What this app does not do
Switched does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It makes no internet connections or network requests of any kind. It contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or tracking. It does not require a user account. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, or biometrics. It processes no payments.
Third-party components
The app uses open-source Flutter packages (home_widget, flutter_local_notifications, android_alarm_manager_plus, shared_preferences, and utility libraries) solely for on-device functionality. None of these transmit data off the device. No Firebase, Google Analytics, ad networks, or social SDKs are included.
Android permissions
POST_NOTIFICATIONS – displays a persistent notification showing your active switch states.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM – fires switch reminders at the exact times you set.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED – re-registers scheduled alarms after a device reboot.
WAKE_LOCK – briefly wakes the device during alarm delivery to run the scheduled callback.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE – declared for plugin compatibility; no user-visible foreground service is run.
No permission is used to collect or transmit data.
Your controls
You can create, edit, or delete any switch at any time within the app. You can change your theme in Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all data permanently — there is nothing stored remotely to delete.
Because no personal data is processed off-device, there is no data controller / data processor relationship under the GDPR in the operational sense. Children
Switched is suitable for users of all ages. The app collects no personal data, makes no network connections, contains no advertising, and requires no account. There is nothing to disclose under COPPA or equivalent children's privacy laws because no personal information is collected or transmitted from any user, regardless of age.
Security
All data remains on-device and is protected by Android's application sandbox and file-based encryption. Because no data is transmitted, there is no network transport layer to describe.
Changes to this policy
If I make material changes, I will update the effective date and publish the revised policy on the app's Play Store listing. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
